BRAIDS MEDICAL PRACTICE

Vacancy Description:

Come and join our friendly and supportive team at Braids Medical Practice. We have an exciting opportunity for a 4 to 5 session salaried GP.

We are based in the South of Edinburgh, a few minutes’ drive from the City Bypass. Our list size is 10,000 patients with a mix of young families and elderly patients. We are a purpose-built practice with large consulting rooms, lots of natural light and a private back garden for outdoor lunches in the sunny weather.  Our coffee room is always well-stocked with home baking, fruit and coffee.

We are a close knit experienced team with very low staff turn-over. We prioritise having break and lunchtimes together. We have six GP partners, all with young families, so our focus has always been on a good work/life balance. We can also offer a supportive environment for a newly qualified GP. Our GPs have a range of specialist interests ranging from coil and implant insertions, diabetic care, joint injections, minor surgery to dermatoscopy. We are also the lead practice for our well run local care home, Cluny Lodge Nursing Home.  As a Vision and DOCMAN practice, we have 15 minute face to face appointments.

We have a great MDT team with an advanced nurse practitioner, pharmacist and physiotherapist as well as close working relationships with our district nurse and health visiting colleagues. Our 2 practice nurses provide excellent chronic disease management services. We are a training practice and have a GPST1 and GPST3 as well as 6th year medical students. We also have a GP retainer.

We have an established team of 11 part-time administrative staff who all work well together and undertake a variety of roles, including reception, care navigation, workflow optimisation and various other administrative duties.

We have a generous annual leave and study leave allowance. An NHS Golden Hello would be payable to eligible successful candidates.
