Vacancy Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Salaried GP to join our friendly team at the Victoria Practice.
Victoria Practice is a small, supportive, training Practice based in the North East of Edinburgh. Our list size is approximately 6400 patients, predominantly made of young families. We are located on the 2nd floor of within Leith Community Treatment Centre, a purpose build facility providing not only GP services but secondary care clinics, ECGs, Xrays, Endoscopy, etc.
Our team is made up of 2 Partners, 3 Salaried GPs, GP trainees, 1 Practice Nurse, Phlebotomist, Physiotherapist, 2 Pharmacists. Our GPs have a range of special interests including minor surgery, joint injections, teaching, implants insertions with the opportunity for any successful applicant to develop their own. We offer a supportive environment for newly qualified GPs with several our previous GPSTs having stayed in post after CCT.
Clinicians in the Practice run to 15 minute appointments (face to face and telephone) with 12 booked patients per session with prioritised time for coffee breaks and lunch throughout the day. There is a low demand for GP home visits and we do not run a duty doctor clinic. We are a VISION and Docman practice with clinical admin providing support.
We hold weekly clinical meetings and monthly MDT meetings with are attended by our Health Visiting and District Nursing teams . Additionally we also arrange 8 weekly Practice Learning afternoons and a clinical education sessions which can all be used to support yearly appraisal requirements.
An NHS Golden Hello would be payable to eligible successful candidates.
Hours of work: 4-6 sessions, preferably Wednesday-Friday however this is negotiable.
Start date: Flexible
Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience and skills
Annual Leave: 6 Weeks Study Leave: 1 week pro rata
