Bruntsfield Medical Practice is a purpose built health centre which was built in 1979 on the site of a small market garden. It was purchased by the partners in 2001 when a major refurbishment was undertaken. It is in central Edinburgh and although there is limited car parking around the practice is fortunate to have its own car park for staff and visitors.

The practice has a list size of 12,000 and has a complement of 5 partners and 3 salaried GPs . As a training practices we also have GPST’s in place as well as undertaking undergraduate medical student teaching.

We have a dedicated support team of 4 part-time Practice Nurses, a Phebotomist/Health Care Assistant, 2 Business Managers, an IT Manager, Patient Services Manager and 8 administrative staff, (4 full time and 4 part time) We also have Health Visitors based in the practice as well as the recent enhancement of other allied professions. We have a Pharmacist two days a week. a Pharmacy Technician one day and a Physiotherapist one day. Our DN team has moved out of the building but we continue to have good links.

The IT system currently in use is Vision . We also currently use Front Desk for our appointment system.

We are a forward thinking practice and continually review all of our processes and policies.

It is of note that we enjoy socialising together when possible resulting in strengthening our team approach even more. Everyone who works here is very complimentary of the happy supportive working environment that we strive to maintain .
